Ally and Central Powers impacted the world by seperating nations and causing the first World War. These two sides wanted too much for their country and it led to violence. Central Powers wanted power and ruling over the nations and Ally Powers wanted peace and goodness for their people.
The Central Powers were formed of four major countries. These four countries were called the "der Vierbund", or "The Association of Four." These countries made up the Central Powers;Germany, Ottoman Empire, Austria-Hungry, Bulagaria, and Italy. The Central Powers were the countries who wanted to take over "man kind". This meant they wanted things to be the way they wanted it to be and they were going to work together to make it happen.( http://www.ww1-propaganda-cards.com/central_powers_introduction.html) The Ally Powers had something much different in mind. The Ally Powers were fighting against the world in order to save their people. The Central Powers only cared about Nationalism. The rise of nationalism was a major problem in Europe. Each country wanted to be the best and most powerful. The countries wanted land and some wanted to "mark their own national boundries" and that is how war broke out in Europe and eventually spread to the whole world. (James A, and Thomas D Jones) Nationalism was only based on a certain countries pride and wanting to be the best, and that is why fighting broke out in Europe. I dont believe trying to be the best has to lead to a World War.
The Ally Powers were formed of many more countries, including America and eventually Italy. The Ally Powers wanted good things for the World and wanted to protect their people. During the War, the Allies were obviously winning. They had easy transportation, a good military, and good trade with the US. My question is why did the war carry on for so long if the Central Powers were being crushed by the Allies? Why didnt they surrender? What was in it for them if they won the war? (Encyclopedia Britannica Online. Enclyclopedia Britannica Online, 2010. Web. 26 Mar. 2010.) America was also a big part of the War. America came in to the war with no army, no supplies, and no experience. The Americans wanted to stay neutral but a secret telegram sent out by Germany provoked the United States. Then Mexican troops invaded a "fort in New Mexico and killed 15 people." "President Wilson was enraged" so he declared war on April 2nd, 1917. Then Italy switched sides. Italy was at first a part of the Central Powers, but towards the end of the war, joined the Ally Powers.I don't think it was a good idea to get involved in the war, but I also believe they had no choice. Because Mexico was invding America and killing people, we could not just do nothing and leave the people unprotected. Therefore we had to join the war. We joined as the Allies along with Russia, Italy, Algeria, and other countries.( English, James A, and Thomas D Jones.)
The outbreak of the war was mainly about Euorpes pride and confidence. Although this was happening, many people did not believe that war would break out because of it. But because it did, Europe joined the Central Powers, and would have thought the war would have been over and "that their side would have been victorious in a matter of months." But Europeans were sure to be soon aware, that was not the case. Europe's overconfidence is the main reason that the war started. Europe was a large country that thought to much of itself therefore when they tried to be the best, things got bad and then the 1st World War began.World War i.(" Encyclopedia Britannica Online. Enclyclopedia Britannica Online, 2010. Web. 26 Mar. 2010.) Another reason for the breakout of War was Militarism. Militarism is when a country improves its milatary so that it can get other countries to improve theirs. For example, if the Central Powers had a large and powerful army, the Allie Powers would strive and work to make their army the same.(http://americanhistory.about.com/od/worldwari/tp/causes-of-world-war-1.htm) I think militarism was a uneccesary reason for the war to break out.
Even though the Allies had victory in the war, that did not mean everything was okay in their home country. As an influenza was spreading throughout, this created a whole new problem for the United States. Many people died from this disease and America could do nothing about it.(English, James A, and Thomas D Jones) .I also think that the countries that were affected with this influenza were too caught up in the war to even worry or care about their own people. WWI played a major part in American history and left many familes and people terrified. It was something that needed to happen even though our nations were permenatley sepertated.
